OLYMPUS, GENERAL MOTORS PARTNER IN SPRING HILL FITNESS CENTER
Olympus Athletic Club chain in partnership with General Motors and the local UAW will celebrate the grand opening of a 34,000-square-foot fitness center in Spring Hill on Aug. 4.
Special membership rates, vendors, games and refreshments catered by O'Charley's are planned during the event from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Guest athlete James "Flex" Lewis will attend the Spring Hill opening.
Located in the UAW union hall at 125 Stephen P. Yokich, the grand opening of the fitness center will mark the completion of a $180,000 renovation of the facility. The union hall also houses a recently renovated 14,000 union banquet space.
"We want to partner with the community to better promote health and wellness. I would like to personally invite the people of Spring Hill to enjoy the Grand Opening festivities on August 4th. We want to show Spring Hill that Olympus is community driven." said Sean Barber, founder and owner of the eight-year-old Olympus Athletic Club chain.
5-Hour Energy, Complete Nutrition and Ignite Wellness are among vendors at the grand opening. Others include Family Advantage Credit Union, Zen Massage, Spring Hill Fire Department, Spring Hill Little League and Lyons Chevrolet Dealership.
Kids' Corner will feature face painting, a bounce castle, blowup obstacle course and other games, and a DJ will provide the entertainment.
Olympus at Spring Hill offers the Life Fitness premier line of equipment along with Hammer Strength free-weight equipment. The $14.99 per month individual membership rate includes free tanning, free childcare, free group exercise and free onsite personal training by Ignite Wellness. A basketball court, outdoor hockey facility, a one-mile outdoor track, smoothie bar and pre- and post-workout drinks complete the fitness center's amenities. Family memberships are also available, and the center can be rented for private or public events.
Hours of operation are 24 hours during the week, with the facility opening at 5 a.m. Monday mornings and closing at 10 p.m. on Friday nights. Weekend hours of operation will be Saturdays, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sundays, 1 p.m.-7 p.m
Stephen Luter will manage the new center. Luter holds a B.S. in political science from Middle Tennessee State University and has four years' of experience in the field.
The Spring Hill location joins the other Olympus fitness centers that have a combined 58,000 square feet of space. Olympus currently has a total of 15,000 members, including International Federation of Body Building and Fitness pros, Flex Lewis and Brandon Curry, IFBB Bikini pro, Brandi Leaver Curry, along with many other sponsored athletes. Barber held the National Physique Committee Body Building Title, Mr. Tennessee, in 2011.
