Spring Hill, Columbia Reach Agreement on Interlocal Wastewater Plan

SPRING HILL, Tenn. — On Monday, October 19, the Spring Hill Board of Mayor and Aldermen

unanimously passed Resolution 26-302, to proceed with plans for an interlocal wastewater

agreement with the City of Columbia.

The plan involves constructing a 12-inch sewer main from the Spring Hill Reclamation Plant on

Mahlon Moore Road to connect to Columbia’s system on the northern side of their city limits. The

sewer main would be installed along Mahlon Moore Road and then follow a TVA easement for

several miles.

Cost projections are in the neighborhood of $12 million, with $3 million planned for upgrades to the

Carter’s Creek Pike Pump Station and $9 million earmarked for the pipeline connecting the two city

systems. The City of Spring Hill will be responsible for the costs associated with this project.

Once complete, the sewer main will transport a minimum of 500,000 gallons of wastewater per day,

up to a maximum of 1.5 million gallons per day. Spring Hill will pay a usage rate to the City of

Columbia for taking on this wastewater.

continue to prosper while maintaining the high quality of life that Spring Hill citizens expect.”

The City of Columbia voted in favor of the plan at its City Council Meeting on October 8, 2026.
